Amangalla – Galle

$

In the historic port of Galle, Amangalla lies within the ramparts of Sri Lanka’s 17th-century Galle Fort. A Unesco World Heritage Site, the Fort’s narrow streets are lined with Dutch and British colonial-era buildings. A genteel symbol of a bygone era, Amangalla offers views of the Fort and harbour on one side and the hotel’s gardens and swimming pool on the other. The elegant residence presents 27 Rooms and Suites, the two-storey Garden House and a tranquil spa known as The Baths. Extending the length of the hotel is a lofty-ceiled veranda, ideal for watching the comings and goings of the Fort.

All the rooms at Amangalla enjoy kingsize fourposter antique beds, freestanding baths, and a living area with a writing desk and dining table. Pettagama chests and planter’s chairs add to the colonial ambience. Twin rooms are also available in each room category.
