Our three Luxury Panoramic Rooms sit on the 7th floor of the hotel. Dambulla Rock, the inspiration behind the Dambulla wing, can be seen from each of them. The perfect place to relax and just be, the Kanchana Lounge on the 6th floor is quiet by day and alive by night. Light snacks, drinks and such will keep you replete and live bands, cultural shows and even performances by the staff offer entertainment, every day from 7.30 pm to midnight.
Well stocked with international and local choices, the Kachchan Bar offers liquid sustenance both strong and mild. Find your favourites; try a local brew – or our signature cocktails sporting a heady mix of the exotic and the unusual. Come as you are, from 10.00 am to midnight, daily.
Your first port of call on arrival and the place to chill anytime thereafter, Café Kachchan overlooks the infinity pool and boasts wide vistas of Sigirya Rock Fortress and the Kandalama Lake. Bites, snacks and drinks of every kind are served from 7.00 am to midnight, every day.
From Champagne breakfasts to village fare featuring the finest organic cuisine in Sri Lanka, relished as picnics in paddy fields to candle lit dinners in caves – you can even entice the chef to join you. Dining at Heritance Kandalama is no ordinary experience, ever.

Our pools are an exceptional place to swim laps, relax with family, or simply unwind in the peaceful surroundings overlooking the Kandalama Lake.
Kachchan Pool
This infinity pool shows the ingenuity of the architect Geoffrey Bawa the edge of the pool blends with the water of Kandalama lake, giving the impression that you are in the lake itself. Siripala, a traditional flautist from the village, also plays here in the evenings.
There are changing rooms below the pool, and we provide free towels – just ask the pool attendant.

Kaludiya Pool
Kaludiya means “black water” – the bottom of the pool is the dark bedrock on which the structure of the hotel rests. The surface of the rock has been coated to prevent water seepage and make it easier to clean the pool.
This natural pool is another example of Geoffrey Bawa’s ingenious blending of the natural topography with the architectural features of the hotel.
Bathing in irrigation reservoirs is a Sri Lankan tradition that stretches back two and a half millennia. As a guest of Heritance Kandalama, you can also enjoy this experience within the comfort of the hotel.

Rashmi Pool
The Rashmi Pool is one of the few features of Heritance Kandalama. Rashmi means “ray of sunlight” – the pool is located at the western end of the Dambulla wing and catches the rays of the setting sun, making it ideal for an evening swim.
This is the largest pool of the hotel and is also equipped for sports like water polo.
